Quebec Immigration Program
The Province of Quebec has its own immigration programs with distinct selection criteria that are more definitive as compared to other provincial immigration programs and the federal programs.
Foreign nationals wishing to settle permanently in Quebec must undergo a two-step immigration process.
They must receive a Quebec Certificat de Sélection (CSQ) by the Quebec Immigration authority, the Ministère de l’immigration et des communautés culturelles (MICC).
- Upon receiving the CSQ certificate, the applicant must file the application with the Canadian Federal Immigration and Citizenship authority to be evaluated for permanent residence.
As of January 2016, Mon projet Québec was created as a secure site on the immigration Canada for applicants to apply for Quebec Skilled Worker Programs (QSWP) to submit their application for a CSQ, to complete online payment and to check updated status of their application, as well as to edit the application and access to electronic communication throughout the whole process.
